Lucy Stephens
Lucy Jenkins from St Ives, Cornwall began learning the violin at the age of 4, at 14 she gained admission to the National Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Chamber Orchestra. Lucy has played in the BBC Promenade concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican and the Birmingham Symphony Hall.
After studies with Mark Knight and Howard Davis she was offered a place at The Royal College of Music studying with Rodney Friend. Lucy has been an active chamber musician as a member of the Elysium String Quartet, appearing as guest performers at the National Gallery, British Library, Victorian Albert Museum, Jack ass film premier and a TV series ‘Pulp’.
Lucy has given many solo recitals, two of her favorites being the Mendelssohn violin concerto with the Sinfonia of St Mary’s and a solo recital for the concert ‘Married to Music’ by Lady Groves. Lucy has also been an active orchestral player working with orchestras such as the Amadeus Orchestra, Seychelles Festival Orchestra, Ten Tours, LCO, London Festival Orchestra, Three Spires, Sadler’s Wells Ballet Company, Duchy Ballet and Duchy Opera. Lucy has enjoyed performing in many countries including China, Hong Kong, Australia, Africa, Germany, Seychelles and Singapore.
Lucy has also had a varied career working and performing with artists such as Cleo lane and John Dankworth, including a concert at The Royal Albert Hall for their 50th Anniversary. She has also worked as a stage musician for the production of Don Giovanni, conducted by Sir Colin Davis and The Thursford Spectacular. Lucy has also enjoyed working with artists such as Katherine Jenkins and Russell Watson. Lucy has worked as a session musician for studios such as RAC Studios, Charlbert street London, Cube recording, VIP Lounge. She has recently recorded with Gloria Cycles – A&G records and for the recent film ‘Footprints’ by Brain Pearce.
Lucy has also worked with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra including educational workshops in London, Kenya and Gambia. Lucy completed her PGCE teacher training as a music specialist at Exeter University and is currently a upper strings teacher of Violin/Viola at Truro School, Truro High School and South West Music School. Lucy is also mother of two young lively boys.

Joanne Courtnay
Joanne has been playing the piano since she was six, participating in many concerts and festivals throughout her youth. Joanne also played the oboe, as a member of the Falmouth Youth Orchestra and Cornwall Youth Wind Band.
Joanne attended the Birmingham School of Music where she studied piano under the watchful eye of the renowned pianist and musicologist, Professor Denis Matthews.
Joanne has always had a passion for piano accompanying and from an early age has enjoyed accompanying at local brass competitions and concerts. Joanne has also been an instrumental lecturer at Truro College, accompanying A level students and guiding them towards their final recitals.
Joanne plays for various choirs throughout Cornwall and is also an accompanist for the students of singing teacher and soprano, Cheryl Rosevear. Joanne enjoys playing and helping Cheryl Rosevears students during their Singing lessons, examinations, concerts and festivals.
Joanne loves teaching the piano and has a very busy teaching schedule at Truro High School for Girls, as well as teaching privately at home.
Joanne has taken part in various public solo performances, including the ‘Bach 48’ at Truro Cathedral and the Chopin ‘Mazurkathon’ at Truro School. She enjoys playing music for weddings, both as a soloist and as part of the Luana Duo.
